The Big Tidy Up

Bank Holiday Monday thankfully dawned clear and dry with more than 20 Village Stalwarts gathered on the Village Green to help clear litter and tidy up the Village ready for the Queens Jubilee weekend, organised by Parish Councillor Jan Morgan.

Groups of people set off in high visibility safety jackets, with their gloves, grabbers and rubbish sacks and returned two hours later with heaps of rubbish! – and were rewarded with coffee and donuts at Precinct 13.

It is unfortunate that most of the rubbish is thrown from cars down the back lanes, beer cans, food wrappers and the like. We would be grateful if folks could take their rubbish home and pop it in the bin.

The Organisers were really pleased with the response from local people, who do tend to pick up litter from around the Village anyway, and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part.

A big thank you to all those who attended, and to those that keep our Village Tidy every day.

National Neighbourhood watch week

Neighbourhood and Home Watch Week 2012 is due to take place between 16th and 24th June 2012. This year the week will focus on the significant contribution made by volunteers and include upcoming campaigns such as The Big Lunch (3rd June) and Volunteers Week (1st to 7th June).

A new Club for High Halden

On the 1st march a club for Parents, their babies and toddlers started in the village.
“Nine o’clock Club” meets every Thursday in High Halden School Hall from 9 – 10am.
We wait to welcome you with a cup of coffee and while you have a chat, we will entertain your littles ones.
